Day 2, 3:46 p.m. | Easton, NAP Unleash Deep Six Broadheads and Injexion Shafts

Easton unveiled its new ultra-narrow, hard-hitting Injexion shafts while New Archery Products debuted its Deep Six broadhead line -- which are specially designed for Injexion shafts -- during a joint press luncheon Tuesday at the 2012 ATA Trade Show.

Injexion shafts measure .236 inches in diameter, significantly narrower than the standard .294-inch diameters of Easton's "now conventional" Axis arrows. The new shafts use stainless steel inserts for 65 percent more strength up front and 32 percent more impact resistance. The Injexion comes in three spines: 330, 400 and 480.

NAP designed a new broadhead series, the Deep Six, with special boattail construction at the ferrule's base to help ensure fast, flawless flight. The series includes the Spitfire Maxx, Bloodrunner 2-Blade, Thunderhead Razor, the BigNasty and the Killzone.

These broadheads also work with Easton's Axis and Axis FMJ arrows. The BigNasty drew much interest from the assembled outdoor media because it's the first broadhead to use the arrow shaft as a ferrule, with three different-sized disks to accommodate a variety of shafts. — Patrick Durkin
