Cassie Gasaway joined the ATA communications team in November 2016 to create content for Archery360.com, BowhuntersUnited.com and ArcheryTrade.org. She covers many topics, including ATA programs, industry news, business and marketing trends, and consumer-focused online efforts that boost archery participation and awareness. Gasaway also creates and manages the e-Blast newsletters and press releases.
She started contributing content for ArcheryTrade.org as a freelance writer in August 2015.
Before joining the ATA she worked nearly two years as the web content specialist for the National Wild Turkey Federation in Edgefield, South Carolina. She managed all pages and information on the NWTF.org website, wrote content for NWTF.org, created the NWTF’s monthly newsletter, and oversaw analytic tracking data for NWTF.org.
Before that she worked six months as an intern in Albia, Iowa, as the web manager for Midwest Whitetail. Besides uploading videos and photos, she planned, managed and implemented content for midwestwhitetail.com. A lifelong hunter, Gasaway started bowhunting in 2014 with her Iowa coworkers and has been hooked ever since.
During college at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, she worked as a news editor and reporter for the student newspaper; reported news on her campus radio station; helped publish a book-length collection of outdoor writings; tutored English, reading and writing; and served as a captain on the school’s NCAA track and field team.
Gasaway is a Wisconsin native who now lives in Georgia with her husband, Whitman. They spend their free time hunting, fishing, hiking, and exploring with family, friends and their dogs Luna and Semper Fi.
She is a certified scholastic 3D archery instructor, and often volunteers as a hunting mentor.
Gasaway graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in communication with an emphasis in media studies, including journalism and media production.
