Heather Koehl joined the ATA full-time as a communications assistant in 2016. She writes for the ATA’s websites, and assists with social-media and public-relations activities.
In 2016, Heather attended the ATA Trade Show as an ATA intern and worked in the Archery 360 media-content booth. She helped retailers access online materials, demonstrated the value of social media, explained how to attract beginners to archery shops, and offered tips about how to keep recreational archers involved in the sport.
Heather began shooting archery at age 5, and has been a professional recurve archer since 2008. She was the USA Archery Olympic Team alternate for the 2012 Games in London, and finished in the top eight during Team USA’s 2016 Olympic trials. She also is a Level 3 archery instructor, as recognized by USA Archery, and has leveraged her expertise as a professional archery coach to youths of various ages and skill levels.
As ATA’s communications assistant, Heather looks forward to answering questions from Archery 360 readers. She also hopes to inspire and educate new archers by writing about her Olympic-level archery experiences.
Heather attended Texas A&M University. She graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in business communications.
