John Lewis joined the ATA as the senior manager of membership where his primary duties are to manage the ATA membership program and general membership operations. Lewis works to develop and implement outreach strategies, benefits and resources to engage and retain existing members, in addition to recruiting and cultivating new members. His goal is to inform every business in the archery industry of the individual and collective benefits of being an active ATA member.
Prior to joining the ATA, Lewis spent more than 10 years in the non-profit sector as a program director and membership director. In his previous roles, Lewis was responsible for strategic development, implementation and execution of all aquatic programs as well as overseeing risk management, training and staff development. As a membership director, his role increased in scope and he was charged with leading all aspects of membership, including new member acquisition, membership sales, new member onboarding, member experience/engagement and membership retention. Lewis also has two years of experience as a sales development representative and account executive which includes knowledge of event management and association management software.
Lewis graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He was born and raised in Syracuse, New York, but now resides in Central Florida with his wife and two daughters. He absolutely loves Florida, especially the mild winters and the abundance of outdoor recreation. He and his family are avid swimmers, love fishing, and enjoy shooting at the range.
