Justin Gorman is director of sales for Kinsey’s Inc., the leading distributor serving the archery, outdoors and hunting industries.
Kinsey’s was founded in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, in 1952 by Gorman’s great-grandfather, Vernon Kinsey, making Gorman a fourth-generation owner. He joined the company full time after graduating college in 2013, and filled Kinsey’s vacant seat on the ATA Board of Directors in July 2017. Kinsey’s term runs through March 31, 2020.
Gorman oversees sales initiatives and planning for Kinsey’s independent dealers and international sales, and also manages its original equipment manufacturing division. Gorman’s experience at Kinsey’s is diverse, and includes previous roles at its retail store and shipping department. He knows all areas of the business, from managing the retail counter and providing customer service to shipping, manufacturing and directing sales.
“My prior experience is valuable in understanding the needs of our business, and identifying with a multitude of industry positions,” Gorman said. “Our company is very diverse, and understanding each part provides a window into different sectors of the archery industry.”
Gorman welcomes the opportunity to address industry challenges and increase participation in the market. “During my term on the ATA Board, I hope to be a catalyst of partnerships and a good steward of promoting archery in all of its forms, including bowhunting, recreational archery and target archery,” he said. “I hope we can improve outreach to grow the number of archery participants, and get the millennial generation outside and active in all forms of our sport.”
Gorman also looks forward to expanding his reach beyond an individual company to help the industry as a whole.
“To have an opportunity to sit on the ATA Board is of great value to me personally, but also to Kinsey’s,” he said. “Giving back to the industry is important to ensure its longevity, and it’s something I’m very proud to be a part of.”
Gorman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder.
