The US has 9.9 million bowhunters, 17.6 million recreational archers and 5.4 million competitive archers, according to a 2020 nationwide survey conducted by McKinley Advisors on behalf of the Archery Trade Association.
The ATA commissioned the 2020 National Participation Survey to determine archery and bowhunting participation numbers that help ATA members and industry representatives make profitable business decisions.
The survey reveals data and insights from the archery industry, including the age, sex, race, location, education background, and household income of bowhunters, recreational archers and competitive archers.
The ATA also created and provided five audience profiles, which outline consumer interests and desires to help industry members better recruit and interact with current and potential customers.

Members and nonmembers can obtain the data through the ATA Store. Members can download the survey results for free or receive a special member-price on a hard copy. The hard copy and digital download are available to nonmembers at regular price. Click here to get the data.
