A great way to generate interest in your range is to host a fun, themed archery event. Combining the shoot with a fundraiser will turn your fun archery event into a community gathering that will bring everyone together for a worthy cause. Whether you organize the fundraiser around a holiday, or plan one at any time of year, these events are a great way to show your love for the community and donate to a great organization.

Choose Your Cause

Choose a cause that’s meaningful to you: a cancer benefit, school supply drive, meals for kids during the summer, donations to the local animal shelter, etc. Once you’ve identified your cause, reach out to the corresponding organization and provide details about your event. You can partner with them on marketing efforts and post to each of your social media accounts to bring awareness to the fundraiser.

It’s important to remember that these fundraisers should be a completely philanthropic effort. The fundraisers are for the community and shouldn’t be about your store selling merchandise.

Partner With Other Organizations

Partner with other businesses and organizations in your community to expand your audience reach and show your community support. Reach out to a local business and ask if they’d like to donate items for a raffle. Give them exposure by including their logo on your flyers, social media posts and other marketing materials before the event. During the event, consider featuring their logo along with yours on any banners in your shop. Make sure you give their business a shoutout when you’re announcing the winners. After the event, post photos of the winners with their prizes and tag the business. Offer to submit your merchandise as raffle prizes at their own fundraising events. If you show them respect and gratitude, they will likely return the favor and advertise or recommend your shop in the future.

Continuous Fundraiser

You can also host a continuous fundraiser with a perpetual food drive. Set up a station for visitors to drop off canned goods that you will donate to a food bank. You can leave the station up year-round and periodically advertise it on your social media. Consider offering an incentive for bringing in canned goods, like free range time or a free target face or other products for every donation. Archers who visit your range will see the setup every time they visit. If they tell their friends about the drive and they’re moved by the gesture and decide to pay you a visit, you could gain another customer by showing that you care about the community and its members.

Hosting a fundraising event will help build a sense of community. It’s a powerful thing when people come together for a greater good. Establish your archery shop as a community gathering place and benefit causes you and your customers care about.
