Bowhunters United, a national consumer-facing bowhunting organization, owned and operated by the Archery Trade Association, absorbed Bowhunting 360 and now offers consumers a one-stop shop for all things bowhunting. BU also launched a yearlong membership sweepstakes in October giving members multiple opportunities to win epic hunting trips and prizes.

BU’s mission is to unite bowhunters and promote and preserve the sport of archery. It celebrates the lifestyle, focuses on conservation efforts, promotes a positive image of bowhunters and advocates on behalf of bowhunters nationwide.

To provide a comprehensive education and membership platform dedicated to bowhunters, the ATA has merged the Bowhunting 360 brand with Bowhunters United. Bowhunting 360 was created in 2017 as a website and social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram to attract, inspire and educate bowhunters. As BU developed, it became clear the ATA didn’t need two separate but similar brands working toward the same goal. Therefore, Bowhunters United will stand alone as the premier platform for all bowhunters, regardless of why, how, when or where they participate.

BU has created a new, user-friendly website and offers three membership tiers available at an annual rate as part of the brand relaunch in early October. Let’s review what’s new, why people should join the organization and how to sign up to become a BU member.

The New BU Website

The BowhuntersUnited.com website is free to access for anyone, anywhere, at any time. It has hundreds of how-to, lifestyle, technology and entertainment articles about bowhunting. Web visitors will find information on gear, hunting strategies, practice routines, hunting land, wild game meals and more. Articles are sorted by topic and can be found using the drop-down menu at the top of the page, or by using a specific term or phrase in the search box.

New archers should explore the Bowhunting 101 page for step-by-step information on how to start bowhunting. Each section lists relevant and helpful articles to support newcomers on their journey to becoming a bowhunter.

The “Find a Store” button allows users to enter their zip code to find nearby archery shops. Newcomers can travel to their nearest archery pro shop to practice, get gear, take a class or connect with like-minded individuals.

People can also shop for BU gear, including hats, T-shirts and membership gift boxes through the “Shop Gear” button.

BU members also have exclusive access to special resources and discounts from outdoor companies through the Member Login portal. After logging in, members can click the “BU Resources” button on the right to find information and resources separated into eight categories:

1. Know Before You Go
2. How to Hunt That Species
3. After the Harvest
4. Sharing Your Passion
5. Community
6. Species Biology
7. Next Level Bowhunting
8. Your State’s Info

Categories have maps, images, videos, e-books, and educational courses from industry partners including MeatEater, the National Deer Association, The Hunting Public, the National Wild Turkey Federation, the National Field Archery Association, state wildlife agencies, the Boone and Crockett club and more.

No matter your bowhunting experience level — or lack thereof — there’s something new and interesting for everyone. Visit BowhuntersUnited.com to read articles, shop for gear, find a nearby archery pro shop and become a member. Once you’re official, visit the Member Login portal to access in-depth resources created by experts on all things bowhunting.

BU Membership Details and Sweepstakes Rules

The Basic Membership is $30, Standard is $60, and Premium is $100. Members receive an official membership card, window decal, vinyl sticker, BU swag, entries into the Bowhunters United Membership Sweepstakes and discounts on hunting products based on the membership tier they choose.

Plus, every member receives at least one entry into the BU Membership Sweepstakes for a chance to win epic hunting trips and prizes, including a UTV, an e-bike or a four-day hunting trip in Texas, Wisconsin, Ohio, Kentucky or Indiana. Standard members receive five entries, and premium members receive 10. Additional prizes include bows, targets, broadheads, and bow accessories and tools. The sooner you sign up to be a member, the more chances you have to win throughout the year.

View BU’s membership page to compare the benefits of each membership. Then, check out the official BU membership sweepstakes page to read the official rules.

Membership Dollars at Work

BU is the first and only national sportsmen’s organization focused on the bowhunter. It also helps bowhunters share their passion with one another and encourages members to become mentors, informed conservationists, better bowhunting advocates and responsible public-land stewards.

Membership proceeds help strengthen the bowhunting community by:

  • addressing hot-topic legislative issues that affect bowhunting. That includes hunting regulations, wildlife-disease research, public-access issues, federal excise-tax policies, and R3 (recruitment, retention and reactivation) efforts to ensure everyone bowhunts safely;
  • recruiting new bowhunters;
  • donating archery equipment to shooting programs;
  • educating nonhunters about bowhunting’s role in conservation;
  • training industry leaders and representatives to safely teach archery to newcomers;
  • creating mentoring programs that support and encourage beginning bowhunters;
  • providing funds and grants to help individuals, businesses and outdoor groups build archery ranges and programs that attract bowhunters.
