FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 27, 2026

NEW ULM, MN. — The Archery Trade Association is pleased to announce the return of the S3DA Indoor Open as part of ATA Show Week, Jan. 7-10, 2027, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Open to archers ages 8-18, the S3DA Indoor Open will take place Jan. 8, 2027, welcoming competitors of all experience levels. An S3DA membership is not required to participate. The event gives young archers the opportunity to compete during the biggest week in archery when manufacturers, retailers, competitive archers, bowhunters and archery enthusiasts gather in Indianapolis.

"S3DA is excited to return as part of ATA Show Week in 2027," said Cody Kirby, executive director of S3DA. "The opportunity to host an S3DA-sanctioned event alongside the ATA Trade Show allows us to showcase the program while giving retailers, manufacturers and industry professionals a firsthand look at the next generation of archers and customers."

The 2027 S3DA Indoor Open will feature divisions for Junior Eagle (age 8), Eagle (ages 9-11), Youth (ages 12-14) and Young Adult (ages 15-18). Competitors may participate in Barebow, Olympic Recurve, Fixed Pin and Open Equipment categories. The event will be shot as a half "Rushmore Rumble" round using the Vegas 5-spot target face, providing young archers with the opportunity to experience the same competition format used during one of the premier tournaments held during ATA Show Week.

In addition to the Indoor Open, S3DA will host Basic Instructor Certification Courses during ATA Show Week. The four-hour course provides the first step toward becoming an S3DA Basic Instructor and starting or coaching an S3DA club or team. New team grants are also available for individuals interested in growing youth archery opportunities in their communities.

Event registration will be available beginning Aug. 3.
