It’s been a while since ATA members gathered to shake hands, share laughs and conduct business, but the dry spell is almost over because the 2022 ATA Trade Show is coming up Jan. 7-9 in Louisville, Kentucky. There’s always a lot to do at the industry’s largest and longest-running trade show, so it’s best to plan ahead to be prepared for what’s to come.
Doing the legwork now makes execution easier and helps you accomplish everything you want to do. Before you can partake in any Show activities or offerings, you must register to attend. Then, complete the following tasks to give yourself the best chance at having a positive and productive Show.

Registration for #ATA2022 is open! The ATA Trade Show is a members-only event. To register, you must join the ATA or renew your membership. Members should click the “Register and Book Hotels” option in their MyATA member dashboard and follow the prompts to register and pay. You must enter your first name, last name, phone number and email address to register. You’ll receive a confirmation email that has an Express Pass with a QR Code. Save the email because the Express Pass lets you obtain your Show badge and lanyard at the Show. If you’re registering multiple team members, you must enter a different email address for each person so they can each receive their own Express Pass.
Registration for the 2022 ATA Trade Show will close on Dec. 17, 2021. New member applications will not be accepted or processed on-site. Visit the registration webpage for additional details. If you would like assistance with the online registration process, please email registration@archerytrade.org or call (866) 266-2776.
After registering for a Trade Show badge, you’ll be directed to a “book hotel” link to make your hotel reservation online. If you’d prefer to make your hotel reservation over the phone, you can call the Louisville Tourism Housing Department directly at (800) 743-3100. You will need your “Group Code” to access the hotel block. You’ll find that code in your Express Pass email, which you will receive after you register. To view the hotel map and hotels in the ATA block, click here. Visit the ATA’s hotel information webpage for more information. Room lists for reservations of 10 or more rooms are due on Friday, Nov. 5. The deadline to book rooms in the ATA hotel block is Tuesday, Dec. 21.

The 2022 ATA Show floor is 95% full. The current 459 exhibitors occupy 187,710 square feet of the exhibit hall. Another 35,000 square feet of space is reserved for the MyATA Area, Featured Products showcase and instructor certification lanes. See who’s exhibiting and where they’re located by viewing the floor plan. It’s never too early to plan your route through the Show floor. A sensible travel route saves much-needed time and energy.
Get ready for Buyer Day (Jan. 7) and the entire three-day Show by reviewing your sales history and anticipated annual revenue. Then, create a budget for the Show. Set realistic numbers regarding how much you can spend.
Try making a product shopping list and wish list. The shopping list should only include items you need and plan to buy. These things are items customers expect to see on your shelves. The wish list should consist of items you want if you have leftover spending money. Also consider how and when you’ll pay for these items and jot down questions to ask exhibitors at the Show, like when you’ll be invoiced and if they have payment plans available. Analyzing your buying and payment strategy now might be a pain, but you’ll be glad you did when January rolls around.
New for #ATA2022: The ATA is mailing the printed Exhibitor Show Special Guide to members before the Show. Additionally, the Big Buck Tags coupons will be printed in the Guide. This change allows buyers to review the Show specials and giveaways before arriving in Louisville, so they can be better prepared and make a more thorough and complete shopping list.
Get top-notch education from experts on business, coaching, marketing and archery tech through the Archery Industry Masterclass. ATA members can register for the Masterclass in their MyATA member dashboard after registering for their Trade Show badge, or through the MyATA Learning Center. Nonmembers can register online in the MyATA Learning Center. The registration fee is $100 for ATA members and $500 for nonmembers. Nonmembers can attend online only. After registering, you’ll receive a confirmation email with event details.
The Masterclass provides detailed and in-depth information beyond the introductory-level curriculum covered in morning seminars and Coffee Talks. This year’s Masterclass features 10 in-person sessions and six prerecorded sessions. All the sessions will be available online in the MyATA Learning Center after the Show.

Boost your marketing value, provide staff with valuable skills and knowledge and get access to archery programs by becoming a certified archery instructor. Thanks to a partnership with USA Archery, the ATA Show offers Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Instructor Certification courses. Plus, new this year, all courses will have an online component and in-person portion. The hybrid approach allows participants to complete most of the coursework in the comfort of their home before the Show, giving them more time on the Show floor. Click hereto learn more about certification courses at #ATA2022. Only ATA members can register for an instructor certification course at the Show. Registration opened Aug. 10. Sign up through the ArcheryTrade.org certification webpage.
In past years, many members used their $150 Visa gift card to pay for meals during the Show. Unfortunately, the ATA will not give away Visa gift cards this year, so you might have to adjust your approach. Visit the Louisville Tourism webpage at GoToLouisville.com to find restaurant options in your budget. You can also view the digital Louisville’s Official Visitor Guide. It’s probably best to identify several restaurants so you have backup options if they’re full when you arrive.
The ATA Trade Show team is hard at work making decisions, confirming logistics, and securing plans for the 2022 Show. Continue to check the ATA website for new information and planning tips. The ATA also sends a “Trade Show Tuesday” email to attendees on select Tuesdays before the Show. Each email has a list of actionable items and important dates to remember, and a countdown clock to the upcoming Show. Sign up for the Trade Show Tuesday email.
