The ATA Board of Directors recently concluded the Executive Committee election. James McGovern, vice president of Rinehart Targets, was named the new Executive Committee Chair. In addition, Jonathan Lené, general manager for Bear Archery Brands, and Teresa Williams, CEO at 3Rivers Archery, were voted into the vice chair positions.

All three individuals will serve a two-year term beginning April 1 and ending March 31, 2024.

Departing the Executive Committee are Mark Copeland of Jay’s Sporting Goods and Jeff Adee of Headhunter Bow Strings. Copeland and Adee will remain on the ATA Board until their term ends.

McGovern was previously on the Executive Committee in a vice chair position. He said consistency in the committee was vital to keeping forward momentum, so he was grateful to be re-elected. McGovern believes the ATA faces challenges regarding identity, revenue sources and long-term sustainability. He’s excited to tackle industry issues and help the organization transition under new leadership.

Lené said it’s a critical time for the ATA regarding the future of the ATA Trade Show and Bowhunters United. As a result, he felt compelled to step up and play a more active role on the Board. He’s confident his skills, passion for the industry, and various positions within the industry will be helpful in the decision-making process.

Williams wanted to help steer association efforts to secure financial health, strengthen Trade Show continuity, and ensure archery outreach, education and conservation efforts remain prominent. She said her forward way of thinking and commitment to the industry’s success will be apparent as she works with the Board on future developments.

All three Executive Committee members said their personal experience with archery, familiarity with the industry, and ability to listen and act with an open mind will help ensure decisions made in the Board room benefit the entire industry, not individual companies.
