December is upon us and the 2023 ATA Trade Show is a handful of weeks away. Act now if you still need to register for the Show, book your hotel room in the ATA block and secure travel plans to Indianapolis. The clock is ticking, so don’t delay. Once you check those three things off your to-do list, you should make a Trade Show game plan to make the most of your time in Indianapolis, Jan. 11-13.
Here’s what to consider when planning your approach to the 2023 Show. After reviewing the Show offerings, pick your favorites and create a tentative schedule.

Who’s There
- Exhibitors: As of Dec. 1, the 2023 Show has over 440 exhibitors, including several first-time folks in the Innovation Zone. View the floor plan to see a list of the exhibiting companies.
- ATA Staff: All 16 full-time staff members will be at the Show wearing a special nametag and ATA attire. Flag them down to discuss your business, ATA-member benefits or anything related to the archery and bowhunting industry.
- Nonprofit Groups: The Show gathers several archery-related nonprofit groups in a particular area on the Show floor. Discover ways to partner or get involved with these organizations to improve your business.
- Peers: The Show brings together thousands of people with an archery or bowhunting business. Each person brings different experiences, interests, knowledge and insights. Talk to everyone, and you might be surprised by what you learn.
Show Highlights
- New Product Launch Showcase: Many exhibitors told ATA staff they have new products to show attendees at the 2023 Show. Plus, over 115 new products will be displayed in the New Product Launch Showcase near Main Registration for your convenience!
- ATA’s Impact Awards: The ATA will honor a deserving individual, retail company and manufacturing company using their voice or platform to inspire others to enjoy and participate in archery and bowhunting. The three recipients will be announced at The Connections Celebration, presented by Mossy Oak, on Wednesday, Jan. 11.

Education
- Seminars: Ten educational seminars take place Thursday and Friday, Jan. 12-13, from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. in rooms 133-137. Presenters will teach on topics ranging from partnerships, types of customers, digital ads, nutrition trends and marketing.
- Coffee Talks: Eleven laid-back presentations and interactive conversations happen each day of the Show in the MyATA Area on the Show floor. Hear from industry members and get peer insights on social media, customer engagement, equipment setups and more.
- Archery Instructor Certifications: USA Archery Levels 1, 2 and 3 archery instructor certifications are available at the Show. Registration is required.
- Archery Industry Masterclass: Members can pay $100 to get top-notch business, marketing, coaching and archery tech education. The in-person classes take place Tuesday, Jan. 10. All courses will be recorded and available online after the Show. Registration is required.

Events
- Buyer Group Shows: ARRO members can attend the ARRO Hot Show on Tuesday, Jan. 10, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Exhibit Hall J. NABA and NBS members can attend the Archery and Outdoor Alliance event on Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Exhibit Hall B on the Show floor.
- Outtech Innovations: Everyone with a Trade Show badge can attend this high-energy event on Tuesday, Jan. 10, at 6:30 p.m. in the Sagamore Ballroom.
- The Connections Celebration, Presented by Mossy Oak: Enjoyment, networking, free food and entertainment by country music artist Cole Chaney are at the center of this free event. It’s Wednesday night (Jan. 11) at 6 p.m.
- Badlands Film Festival, Presented by Garmin: Kick back and watch outdoor-related videos ranging from two to eight minutes long with hundreds of other industry members. The event is on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m.
Additional Considerations
The Show has a ton of offerings, so your schedule will quickly fill up. Remember to factor in time for meals, walking or traveling to and from locations, and breaks to catch your breath, regroup or gather your thoughts. You’ll also want to browse booth events listed in the 2023 ATA Trade Show mobile app, and visit the MyATA Area to learn about ATA-member benefits, ATA programs, free resources and the advocacy efforts ATA staff make on your behalf.
Make Your Game Plan
Whether you want to meet with peers or exhibitors, inspect new products, attend events, take educational classes or all of the above, creating a detailed schedule and reserving time slots for specific happenings is important. The Show is only three days, but it can be chaotic. With all the exhibits, displays, events and people, it’s easy to get distracted and forget something. Even a rough game plan will help you stay focused, organized and composed in Indianapolis. Tackle this task sooner rather than later.
