The 2020 ATA Trade Show in Indianapolis, Jan. 9-11, is almost here. Are you ready?

Don’t miss your chance to cash in on Buyer Day, buy ATA merchandise, earn a “Best in Show” award, win $5,000 in cash, and broaden your business IQ at educational events. All these opportunities are new for #ATA2020, and you can learn more here. Then, study these seven tips to prepare for the Show.

Register now and enjoy all the benefits of the Trade Show. Photo Credit: ATA

1. Register ASAP

Life won’t slow down between now and New Year’s. Register for #ATA2020 before you get busier and forget. ATA members must register to attend. Please log into your MyATA member dashboard and click “Badge Registration,” and then follow the on-screen prompts to register and pay. Only ATA members can attend the Show. If you’re not a member, click here to join. Please note: Dec. 20 is the last day to register for the Show by phone, fax, email or mail. Online registration is open throughout the Show. Only retailers can register onsite at the Show.

2. Book Your Room

Registering for the Show gives you access to ATA’s hotel block. Click the “Book Hotel” link in the final stage of registration. Click the link, select your dates, pick your hotel, fill in your information, and submit! To book your room by mail, email, phone or fax, use the ATA’s easy-to-use form. The ATA hotel block closes Dec. 23 unless all rooms are reserved sooner. Book now for the best rates. Click here for rates, a hotel map, and more information about the ATA's hotel block.

3. Beware of Scams!

ATA members report calls and emails from trade-show scammers each fall. Be vigilant. The scams usually involve two categories: hotel rooms and the membership directory. All communications from official ATA Trade Show service providers are marked with the ATA Trade Show service-provider logo. For a list of ATA-approved providers, click here. Visit Indy is the only authorized housing agency for the 2020 Show. Attendees who make financial agreements with other housing companies do so at their own risk. The ATA does not sell its membership list – the membership directory – to anyone. The list is free through members’ MyATA dashboard.

4. Plan Your Schedule

Remember these events as you plan your trip to Indianapolis. -  Buyer Day: Plan for Buyer Day. Only those with a yellow buyers badge or red exhibitors badge can enter the Show floor on Day 1 of the 2020 ATA Trade Show. This change ensures buyers and manufacturers can focus on uninterrupted order writing, business planning, and new-product evaluations the first 9½ hours of the three-day Show. The Show floor opens to all ATA-members the next two days, Jan. 10-11. The Show remains a business-to-business event that’s closed to consumers. -  Cash Giveaway Drawings: To emphasize order writing at the Show, the ATA is giving away $5,000 each day of the Show, and ScentLok is giving away $1,000 daily, for a total of $18,000. Retailers who place $5,000 in orders at the Show can fill out the first two coupons in their Big Buck Tags book, and drop them off in the MyATA Area for a chance to win $5,000 or $1,000. The ATA and ScentLok will draw a retailer each day of the Show, totaling $18,000 in cash giveaways. Once retailers submit their coupons, they’re eligible to win throughout the Show. For example, retailers who place $5,000 in orders on Day 1 will have three chances to win. -  Free Evening Events: How can you spend spare time in Indy? On Wednesday, Jan. 8, you can attend the ARRO Hot Show, NABA Super Show, and Outtech Innovations XXII. On Thursday, Jan. 9, don’t miss the ATA’s new event, “Connections: An ATA Happy Hour.” Click here to view affiliate events at the 2020 Show. You can also view the schedule of events to see other #ATA2020 happenings. Please note: You must be an ARRO or NABA member to attend their respective shows. -  Instructor Certification Classes: Sign up to become a certified archery instructor at the ATA Trade Show. Certification adds credibility to your business and lets your shop offer money-making programs. The Show offers Level 1, Level 2 and S3DA certifications. Click here to learn more and register online. Spots are limited, so register today. -  Educational Opportunities: You can attend seminars, demonstrations and ATA Coffee Talks to improve your skills and product knowledge at #ATA2020. Click here for a sneak peek of presentations. For the full lineup of educational opportunities in Indianapolis, click here.

We've added new tabs to the app this year to further enhance your experience. Photo Credit: ATA

5. Download the App

Use the ATA’s free mobile app to plan your trip to #ATA2020. The app provides a map, planner, schedule, sales guide, and booth and exhibitor guide. It also lists booth events and shows food-court locations. The app keeps you organized and informed throughout the Show. You’ll also see two new tabs, “Save” and “Enter to Win.” The “Save” tab lists all exhibitors and special offers in the Big Buck Tag Coupon Book. The “Enter to Win” tab lets everyone downloading the app to enter a drawing for a Suunto Alpha Traverse watch!

The app is available through iTunes (iPhone app), Google Play (Android app) and ChirpE (Mobile Web). Download it now to plan your itinerary. Click here to learn more and download the app.

6. Apply or Nominate Someone for a Best in Show Award

The ATA created an awards program to recognize members’ achievements and new products. The “Best in Show Awards” program features three groups: Impact Awards, Featured Product Showcase, and New Product Launch Showcase. Click here to review the awards and learn how to enter or nominate someone.

7. Follow the Rules

Protect yourself, your peers and the Show’s reputation by following the ATA’s written and unwritten #ATA2020 rules. Click here for details.
